how-a-couple-won-$1-million-in-the-lottery-thanks-to-running-out-of-gas-in-the-car

A North Carolina woman and her partner had to be thankful that their car was running out of gas, as they walked away with a $1 million dollar instant lottery ticket prize.

Laura Keen of Winston-Salem told North Carolina Education Lottery officials that she and her boyfriend were shopping for Christmas presents when their truck’s fuel light came on, which forced them to stop at the 7-Eleven gas station, located on South Main Street in the city of Kernersville.

While filling up her tank, Laura Keen bought a Millionaire Scratch-Off ticket Maker that cost him $ dollars, the same thing that he scratched right there. Minutes later she found out that she had become a $1 million dollar winner.

“She was screaming. We were both screaming. We were in a state of shock, just in a state of shock,” Keen said, according to the UPI information portal.

Keen said she was especially surprised by the circumstances that led her to buy that scratch-off and win the big sum of money, since it seemed like she was destined to own that winning scratch-off ticket.

“We never would have won that if that gaslight hadn’t come on,” she said the lucky winner.
