A 25 year-old man was arrested following the death of his wife after police said he admitted to murdering her, according to a criminal complaint reviewed by El Diario.
At approximately 9 in the morning on Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, the police in the city of Alderson in West Virginia, responded to a call about a woman who probably had no vital signs.
It was in a house where the authorities discovered Marissa Dawson, who had died after “suffering significant facial trauma,” according to the complaint, through the police statement.
“It appears that the subject threw his victim through the residence and likely struck his head against various items in the residence”, the items in the complaint state.
The police searched the house and found clothing bloodied, in addition to noticing that it appeared that Marissa’s clothing had been changed, according to the documents.
Authorities noticed that Marissa’s car was not in the scene and began a city-wide search for her Infinity
. They quickly located the vehicle, which was driven by Zachary Dawson.
Police noticed blood on Zachary’s clothing, necklace, hands and inside the vehicle, according to the complaint.
During an interview with Zachary, police allege that he admitted to “hitting” his wife during an argument the night before and allegedly told police that he had killed her.
Marissa was the mother of five children, who were not at home at the time of the argument, West Virginia’s MetroNews reported, though the couple had barely married in the past 24 October.
