The actor Samuel L. Jackson, who has worked on several Quentin Tarantino projects, defended the Marvel actors in the face of recent criticism from the filmmaker, in a live program.
The Asked by co-hosts of the television show ‘The View’ how he would respond to Tarantino’s recent words, Jackson stated that Marvel actors are stars, not just superheroes.
“It takes an actor to be those particular characters. It’s not a big controversy for me to know that these actors are movie stars. You know? Chadwick Boseman is Black Panther. You can’t refute that, and he’s a movie star.”
“You have all these actors who have become famous playing these characters. But they are not movie stars. Certain? Captain America is the star. Or Thor is the star”, answered the actor.
A week ago, Quentin Tarantino said on the ‘2 Bears, 1 Cave’ podcast that Hollywood actors who are called upon to play Marvel characters are not true movie stars and assured that they only they become famous for their comic book characters and not for their talent.
