Five members of “Los Sures”, a group associated with the “Trinitarios” gang, pleaded guilty to first degree involuntary manslaughter for the murder of the young Lesandro “Junior” Guzmán-Feliz, which occurred on 20 of June 30 in The Bronx.

District Attorney Darcel D. Clark stated that the defendants, Ronald Ureña, Luis Cabrera Santos, 30 years, Gabriel Ramírez Concepción, 30 years, and Danilo Payamps Pacheco, of 29, pleaded guilty to first degree manslaughter Wednesday before Bronx Supreme Court Justice Ralph Fabrizio. José Tavarez, 29 years old, pleaded guilty to first degree manslaughter last 16 of November of 2022, before the judge of the Supreme Court of The Bronx Ralph Fabrizio.

“The actions of the defendants culminated in the brutal attack against Lesandro “Junior” Guzmán. They, along with seven other defendants, have been charged with the murder of the 16 year-old boy that horrified the Bronx and the entire nation. Ever since “Junior” was taken from his family we have been relentless in getting justice for him. These defendants will be sentenced to prison terms ranging from 10 to 15 years for his role in this horrendous tragedy,” Prosecutor Clark said in a statement.

Santos will be sentenced on 10 January 2022 and sentencing of four other defendants is scheduled for 16 January 2023 . According to the guilty plea, Urena will be sentenced to 16 years in prison, five years after supervised release and waives the right to appeal; Santos, Concepción and Pacheco will be sentenced to 10 years in prison and five years of post-release supervision, waiving the right to appeal; and Tavarez to 15 years in prison -10 for the conviction for manslaughter and two years for a separate weapons case- and five years after supervision of the release and waiver of the right to appeal.

According to the investigation, the night of 20 of June 30, Diego Suero, leader of “Los Sures” a violent group of the “Trinitarios” gang, and Federico Then, second in command, summoned members of the group to Suero’s house and ordered them to commit acts of violence against another group of Trinitarians called “Puesta de Sol”.

The five defendants were part of of a group that was traveling in four cars, and ran into the young Lesandro Guzmán-Feliz, who tried to run away approximately four blocks to a warehouse in Belmont, where he sought refuge.

According to the investigation, the defendants were recorded in images of the store’s cameras entering the warehouse, and then drag the victim out of the store. When the young man was forcibly taken from the store, five other defendants stabbed him.
