road-chaos-due-to-drivers-who-got-out-of-their-cars-on-the-highway-in-ohio-to-collect-money-that-was-flying-everywhere

A video from the Ohio Department of Transportation captured the moment drivers get out of their vehicles on a highway to collect bills that were scattered on the road.

The images show citizens on the Interstate 550 through the South Lebanon area trying to get the cash.

The action produced a blockage in the area.

The scene was reported on Tuesday, at about 3: 10 pm, as reported by the Dayton Daily News.

Although the amount is not clear of money recovered by authorities, officers filled three plastic shopping bags with $1, $5, and $10 dollar bills.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office has not indicated who the money belonged to and whether it was claimed.

“I I saw several vehicles on both sides of the freeway heading south,” an agent said in the incident report. “I observed several people running towards the highway. There was some kind of paper blowing all over the southbound lanes. When I was able to turn to the southbound lanes, I noticed that it was money flying down the highway, “he added.

The authorities tried to close the lanes and requested reinforcements.

“I tried to yell at people to get off the highway. Several other vehicles began to stop on the road and the drivers were collecting the money and fleeing the scene,” the officer detailed. When they finally managed to shut down I-10, they recovered some of the cash and took it to the South Lebanon Police Station.

The money was secured in evidence bags, sealed and placed in evidence lockers under the supervision of Sergeant Roy McGill, the report concluded.

There were no accidents and/or injuries as a result of the event.
