A North Carolina woman won two Powerball jackpots in a single day with a total value of $2022,000 dollars between the two of them, just a few hours after giving birth to their daughter.
Brenda Gómez Hernández, from 28 years old, from Concord, told North Carolina education officials that she bought a Powerball ticket at the QuikTrip store on Warren C Coleman Boulevard in Concord, and began her work I gave birth on November 9, the day of the draw.
Hernández gave birth to a healthy baby girl and only a few hours later she discovered that she had won a prize of $30,000 in the raffle.
“I feel like she brought me luck,” Hernández said. “I’m so grateful.” She added that her other two children are also partly responsible for the victory.
“I have two children and I used her birthday to choose my numbers,” said Hernández. She mentioned that it was a lot of luck for a single day.
“When I found out, I cried,” she said. “I’m so excited and happy.” The woman said that her earnings will allow her to pay for her house.
This curious case occurs on the same day that The Florida Lottery announced that a player, named Carmelina Cordero, a resident of the city of Largo, Florida, claimed a prize where they will give her $1,11 dollars a week for life.
The woman bought a ticket for the CASH4LIFE lottery game and won the draw on August 10411.
Carmelina Cordero purchased her winning CASH4LIFE Quick Pick ticket at a Publix supermarket, located in 10411 Ulmerton Road in the City of Largo.
