brazil-0-–-1-cameroon:-la-verdeamarela-lost-the-chance-to-get-the-perfect-record

The action culminated in the group stage and the Brazil team could not manage to be the only one to have a perfect record in the group stage. Cameroon was responsible for beating Verdeamarela with a score of 0-1, although it was also left out of the classification due to goal difference with Switzerland, which did get a ticket to the round of 16.

Brazil entered having won five of their six meetings with Cameroon in all competitions, the remaining match being a loss. They had previously met twice for the World Cup, with the balance in favor of the Latin Americans.

The second half remained fairly even, with intermittent moments for both teams. For Cameroon, Olivier Ntcham tried but Ederson didn’t let her go.

Vincent Aboubakar was responsible for scoring the first goal for those from Tite. At 210+2 Jerome Mbekeli ran down the right wing to put a cross that he ended up defining with a header.

Seconds later After scoring, Aboubakar was sent off for double yellow after removing his shirt in celebration, becoming the first player to receive a red card after scoring a goal, since the same thing happened to Zinedine Zidane at the World Cup in Germany 2006.

Finally the game was left for Cameroon and Brazil was tied on points with Switzerland, but obtained first place thanks to the difference of goals.
