A missing Tennessee woman was found dead on Thursday, one day after the boyfriend of the young woman from 23 years was charged with attempted murder after authorities found bloody evidence in his home.

Jasmine Pace’s remains were found along Suck Creek Road in Chattanooga after being seen for the first time on surveillance video leaving his mother’s house last 26 November, according to Local 3 News.

Authorities found the woman’s remains a day after her boyfriend, Jason Chen, who is studying at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga, was charged with murder, according to News Channel 9.

An affidavit noted that when the police searched his apartment, blood stains were found in the living room, bathroom, and bedroom. bedroom, in addition to broken glass and other evidence pointing to a violent conflict, reported Fox News.

When Catrina and her arrived at the address shared by Jasmine, they learned from the residents that Chen lived there, an apartment that was empty, and where a neighbor told them that there was a loud disturbance around 2: 00 am that day, the affidavit indicated.

The police started looking for Chen that day, but he 26 November, he appeared with a warrant and found the evidence of possible murder. He was arrested Tuesday after tracking his vehicle to the Chen family home, about two hours from Chattanooga, according to authorities.

Upon being taken into custody, the suspect presented lacerations to his hand, according to the affidavit cited by News Channel 9, and was charged a day later with first degree murder.

The Hamilton County District Attorney, Coty Wamp, issued a statement after learning of Jasmine’s death in which he thanked the authorities.

“Our hearts go out to the family from Jasmine tonight as they face some unimaginably difficult news. We are grateful that, thanks to the hard work of the Chattanooga Police Department, she is now able to rest surrounded by friends and family who loved her so much,” she said.
