The Parler social network announced that it canceled the sale negotiations with Kanye West for intensifying the spread of his anti-Semitic messages, after declaring his love for Adolf Hitler.
“This decision was made in mid-November considering the interest of both parties”, said the microblogging and social networking platform, in information released by AFP.
Since October, Parler had announced an agreement to sell the social network to Ye, as the rapper is also known, but after accentuating his anti-Semitic and racist rhetoric the negotiation collapsed.
Among West’s latest comments, there are those he made on the Alex Jones show, famous for its ultra-right tendencies and its conspiracy theories.
“All human beings have something of value that they brought to the table, especially Hitler,” Ye said on the show. “We have to stop insulting the Nazis all the time.”
The rapper made it clear that he “likes” the German dictator who caused World War II and assured that “the Nazis also did good things”.
West’s controversial behavior has also earned him the cancellation of the trade agreement with Parler, that other agreements with large companies such as Adidas, Gap and Balenciaga be cancelled, in addition to blocking their accounts on social networks such as Instagram and Twitter.
Parler, created in 2018, has been characterized by accommodating supporters of former President Donald Trump and far-right users who say they have been censored on other platforms.
Parler also has been temporarily removed from the main app stores for not moderating calls for violence, as happened in the attack on the United States Capitol by fans of former President Trump.
As if that were not enough, yesterday Twitter suspended Ye’s account again, because the new owner of Twitter, Elon Musk , said the rapper violated the platform’s rules that prohibit incitement to violence. This after Ye appeared to display a swastika symbol inside a Star of David in one of his posts.
