Titan is the only other body in the Solar System with seas, rivers and lakes, although they are not made of water, but of hydrocarbons, such as methane.
Its unique properties are worth studying in detail, and since the Cassini mission is no longer exploring Saturn, it’s up to telescopes to keep an eye on it. Both the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) and the Keck observatory here on Earth have now studied the frigid world, with incredible results.
The two world-class telescopes were able to see Titan’s seas, as well as the clouds. The JWST images were taken on November 4. The team noticed two clouds in the atmosphere near the North Pole of the moon.
