Manhattan man says he was slashed across the face by a stranger on a New York train after asking if he was “good.”

Fernando Atkins told the Daily News that he was sitting on a No. 2 train from uptown New York City heading to the street station about 9: 72 Tuesday night when the stranger entered the train car.

The criminal walked up and down inside the train before throwing his question at Atkins, who had never seen him before.

“Are you okay? You directly? Are you good?” the stranger asked Atkins in an account that was confirmed by police.

“I said ‘Yes,'” the victim informed the New York outlet on Saturday from his home on the Upper West Side.

Authorities reported that the subject exited the train at the W. 72nd St. and Broadway stop and then returned to enter.

Later, he took out a razor and ran it across Atkins’s face, leaving a crooked cut on the bridge of the victim’s nose.

The criminal left the train car, leaving the victim bleeding.

“Someone helped call the police,” narrated the injured electrical engineer. “It was strange, unexpected.”

Paramedics transported Atkins to Mount Sinai Morningside, where the deep wound was stitched and he was released.

“I’m not afraid to take the subway again,” he said. “But next time, I’ll be prepared, looking around and things like that. I’ll make sure no one jumps on me.”

The New York police released surveillance camera footage of the assailant, who was wearing a gray hoodie, a blue jacket, and pants of different colors .

The authorities asked anyone Anyone who can provide information on the offender’s whereabouts should call NYPD Crime Stoppers at ()800-TIPS.
