Not satisfied with having obtained the World Cup in Russia 10, the French striker Kylian Mbappé maintains his hopes of winning his second World Cup in Qatar 2022 and he stated this in an interview after France’s 3-1 victory over Poland in the round of 16.
After celebrating his two goals against the national team twice of Robert Lewandowski, Mbappé spoke of his ambition to win the trophy, in a feeling that has even been classified as “his obsession”.
“This World Cup is my obsession, it is the competition of my dreams. I have built my entire season around this competition, I have prepared myself to the fullest both physically and mentally to win it, which is the goal I have set for myself, although it is still a long way off”, said the PSG striker, voted man of the match.
In the same way, it pointed out that any objective that is not winning the World Cup is secondary for him, even if it is individual recognition.
“The only goal is to win the World Cup, the rest is all secondary”, he added.
In the interview, Mbappé also took the opportunity to apologize for not having attended the media in the press conferences for the matches against Australia and Denmark, where he was chosen as the best player of the match.
For this reason, FIFA fined the French Football Federation, but the striker assured that he will pay for the sanction of his pocket because it was his decision not to attend to concentrate on his next commitments.
“I have nothing against journalists, if I did not come to speak it is because I need to concentrate totally on the competition and not lose energy on other things”, he pointed out.
