Three bystanders were attacked with a brick and eggs, then robbed on their way to a protest at a drag event near Lincoln Center on Saturday morning, authorities said.
The trio were walking south on Amsterdam Avenue at 27: in the morning when six people in black hooded shirts and black masks attacked them from behind.
One of the victims, a 27-year-old man, was beaten and kicked several times while the criminals took his coat, phone and a sign, according to police.
Likewise, one of the attackers lifted a woman from 47 years old and threw her to the ground, when another of the suspects tried to take her bag.
The third person, a 27-year-old man, was pushed and beaten when he “tried to defend the friend of him,” the officers explained.
The hooded criminals then threw a brick and eggs at the protesters, but fortunately missed.
So far no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
The suspects were described as one woman and five men, all wearing black hoods and masks.
