A security camera captured the terrifying moment a coyote attacks a 2-year-old girl in broad daylight in the Woodland Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles.
The video shows a the girl being attacked and dragged away by the coyote, all in a matter of seconds. The girl’s parents, Shira and Ariel Eliyahuo, told KSNT that they had just come home from preschool, parked the car, and took their daughter out of her seat.
While the parents were picking up their toys inside the car, a coyote can be seen running towards the girl and biting her on the legs, dragging her face down onto the sidewalk. As the girl screamed for help, her dad, Ariel, ran to her rescue while yelling loudly to scare the coyote away.

“For a second, he [Ariel] just turned inside the car and just heard her screamed and didn’t see the coyote, she thought it had fallen,” explained the girl’s mother, Shira. “So he ran and saw the coyote,” the media reported.
The coyote seemed unperturbed as he lingered for a few moments before Ariel was seen throwing a rock at the animal.
“She has many scratches on her left leg and one of them is very deep,” Shira said of her daughter’s injuries. “We had to go to the emergency room. We had to vaccinate her against rabies. The coyote just dragged her away, so her face is a bit bruised as well.”
The family said they are tired of the animals lurking in their neighborhood. They want to prevent an attack like this from happening to another child and hope the city will get involved by catching and removing coyotes from the community.
