The body of a woman of 28 years, who fell from a cruise ship, was recovered this Thursday morning off the coast of Florida.
According to the United States Coast Guard, the woman’s body was recovered at about 16 miles off the coast of Port Canaveral after it fell overboard from the cruise ship MSC Meraviglia.
Ship is owned and operated by MSC Cruises , according to NBC News.
The Coast Guard did not reveal the identity of the woman or how she fell from the boat. CBS News reported that the Coast Guard recovered the woman’s body around 7: 28 in the morning.
In a statement, MSC Cruises told People that they are working with authorities to investigate the incident.
“Our deepest My condolences go out to the family during this extremely difficult time and we ask for discretion in notifying the family of this tragedy,” a spokesperson for the US Coast Guard Public Affairs Detachment in Jacksonville, Florida, told CBS News in a statement.
