A video captured the moment in which a pilot is ejected after the crash of a Lockheed F-35B Lightning II jet at a Texas track this Thursday.

Police responded at approximately : 35 in the morning to emergency calls from both the naval police and Lockheed Martin, a multinational company of American origin in the aerospace industry and military, saying that a combat plane had crashed at the Fort Worth Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base.

In the emergency call, they added that the pilot had been ejected in White Settlement, a city located in Tarrant County, Texas, Police Chief Chris Cook said in a video filmed by a local Fox affiliate.

“When we got there, we were pleased that we didn’t see a big plume of smoke or anything like that, so we thought, ‘OK, thought. os and prayers with the pilot, maybe he will be fine,’” Cook said in the video.

The accident occurred during a test flight, reported Fox 4.

Footage posted to Twitter by a local CBS affiliate reporter shows the plane descending vertically, bouncing once off the runway, then slamming down. In the video, the pilot appears to eject shortly after landing.

“We are aware of the F- accident B on the shared runway at the Joint Naval Air Station Reserve Base in Fort Worth and we understand the pilot ejected successfully,” said Lockheed Martin, which has an F-

assembly plant. B on the base.


Details about the pilot’s condition are unknown at this time. Cook told the outlet that the base dispatched firefighters and emergency personnel to the scene.

The plane had not yet been transferred from Lockheed Martin to the US military, but the pilot works for the government, according to Lockheed Martin spokeswoman Jacqueline Lorenzetti.

The F-35B is the variant designed for the Marine Corps. It has a short takeoff and vertical landing capability for landing on Navy ships.
