A Maryland couple won a $200 thousand dollar lottery prize when they unexpectedly changed their usual lottery ticket buying routine.
The husband, from Prince George’s County, told Maryland Lottery officials that he and his wife have a regular routine for participating in the Pick 5 lottery game, which normally What they do is that the husband chooses the numbers and the wife buys the ticket.
The man said that his usual routine changed during Black Friday, the day his wife had to work late, this made for the husband to stop at an ATM to withdraw cash and be able to buy the ticket, a task that had to be up to his wife.
The husband said he was surprised to find that the ATM handed him all his money in $5 bills. He said that this strange event for him led him to decide to buy two identical $1 tickets instead of a single ticket, which was what his wife usually took.
