michigan-man-buys-last-two-remaining-lottery-tickets-at-store-and-wins-$4-million

A Michigan man who noticed that there were only two Diamond 7s lottery tickets left at his local store decided to buy both and won the top prize of $4 million.

The 42-year-old man, from Macomb County, told Michigan Lottery officials he went to a store called Meijer in the town of Bad Ax to redeem some small lottery ticket prizes he had previously purchased.

“I like to play the $20 and $30 instant tickets and had a few of them to redeem while I was in the store one day. When I got to the counter, I saw that there were only two Diamond 7s tickets left, so I bought them both,” said the lucky player, according to information from UPI.

“I scratched off the barcodes and had them scanned right away. When one of them gave a message to file a prize claim, I started scratching it up on the counter with the clerk,” the man added.

The winner said he was stunned to discover the top prize of $4 million.

“As soon as I scratched off the winning symbol and saw ‘4MIL’ below it, I grabbed the ticket and ran out of the store. I was in complete shock,” she said.

The player said that part of his winnings will be used to buy a house. “Winning is a blessing, I still can’t believe it’s real,” he said.
