One man died and three were injured in a shooting last night on the same corner where less than 48 hours before another shooting took the life of young Carlos González (26), in The Bronx (NYC).

Both events occurred outside the “Gourmet Deli” establishment at the corner of Marmion and E. Tremont Aves., Crotona neighborhood, Monday at 9:09 pm and again last night around 6:35 pm

A memorial vigil for Gonzalez was taking place on that corner when gunshots erupted yesterday, the New York police said. It was not immediately clear if the two shootings were connected, he said. Daily News.

In the second case, a gunman reportedly fired into the crowd, hitting a 28-year-old man in the chest, a 27-year-old in the leg, a 46-year-old in the torso and a 25-year-old in the arm.

The four were taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where the 28-year-old man died, police said. The other victims were in stable condition last night. It is not clear if there is a connection between the victims or if the gunman has been identified.

“We heard the shots and closed the doors,” said the owner of the nearby store. “We didn’t want our customers to die.” After the shooting, police marked at least five rounds with orange cones outside the establishment.

Votive candles honoring González remained lit on the sidewalk as police continued to investigate.

“I have been here in this area for three years. I have never seen anything like this before,” said the relative of one injured person, who asked not to be named. “This is crazy. It has to stop, this of the arms”.

Police on Wednesday released surveillance footage of the man they believe killed Gonzalez. No arrests have been made in any of these cases. Last week, a 27-year-old Latino man was arrested on suspicion of shooting a father and his 6-year-old daughter to death in an Inwood (NYC) warehouse on December 15.
