celebrities-confirm-their-return-to-the-golden-globes-after-controversy

Steven Spielberg, Ana de Armas and James Cameron are among the confirmed list for the Golden Globes in the face-to-face return of the delivery after the controversy that arose in 2021.

The awards organized by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), seek to recover the prestige lost after the investigation published by the Los Angeles Times newspaper in 2021 that revealed corrupt practices and lack of representation in its members.

After making some changes and trying to amend its mistakes, it seems that the installment is starting to get on track again, because according to information from Variety magazine, some prestigious personalities have already confirmed their attendance at the 80th Golden Globes gala.

Among them is Spielberg, author of “The Fabelmans”, along with part of his work team such as actress Michelle Williams and screenwriter Tony Kushner.

Likewise, Austin Butler is expected to attend, who is nominated for his performance in “Elvis”, the Cuban Ana de Armas who starred in the film about the life of Marilyn Monroe in “Blonde”, Jaime Lee Curtis, nominated for “Everything Everywhere All at Once” and “quite possibly”, Daniel Craig, the protagonist of “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery”.

The American media also pointed out that the director of the latter, Rian Johnson along with Guillermo del Toro, who has three nominations for “Pinocchio” and James Cameron, who is currently breaking box office records for his movie “Avatar: The Way of Water” , will also walk the red carpet of the Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills, California, where the ceremony will take place.

In the field of television, some personalities who have already confirmed their attendance are Kevin Costner (“Yellowstone”), Jenna Ortega who has driven the world crazy for her work on “Wednesday”, Julia Garner, nominated for “Ozark” and “Inventing Anna”, Niecy Nash (“Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story”), Jessica Chastain (“George & Tammy”), among others.

However, until now some artists have limited themselves to confirming their presence such as Brad Pitt and Margo Robbie from “Babylon” and Julia Roberts who is nominated for the series “Gaslit”.

Although the association has carried out actions in his organization since the scandal, it is still unknown if his return will be well received by the industry, since in the past, artists such as Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo and Tom Cruise have positioned themselves against him.

The Golden Globes will take place on January 10 at the Hilton in Bevery Hills (California) and will be broadcast again on NBC.
