FC Barcelona could not win in the Catalan derby against RCD Espanyol and ended up agreeing to a draw in a game that had already been quite hot since the previous one.
The match started with a controversial line-up for Robert Lewansowski who had received a double yellow in the previous match, but which was postponed following an appeal. On the other side, a Martin Braithwaite who this time was playing at the Camp Nou but with the Espanyol shirt.
The culés had raised the score early in just minute 7′ with a goal from Marcos Alonso, preceded by a triple exchange of the ball with his head.
Marcos Alonso was the protagonist again but this time, in a negative way for his team. The Blaugrana player committed a foul on Joselu in the area, which Matheu Lahoz ended up sentencing.
Joselu himself was in charge of converting the penalty for a goal, choosing the center of the goal while Marc-André ter Stegen jumped to his left side.
The match was 1-1 and Lahoz ended up being the protagonist, with claims from both sides.
In this way, with the same number of games played, Barcelona ties the top of La Liga Santander with Real Madrid. Both teams add 38 units although the culés are positioned above thanks to the goal difference.
