The Gremio de Porto Alegre of Brazil announced this Saturday the signing of the Uruguayan soccer player Luis Suárez, who arrives from Nacional in his country to join one of the strongest teams in Latin America in his quest to maintain his good physical performance and even return to return to Europe.

The announcement was made by the ‘Tricolor gaúcho’ through his account on the social network Twitter, where they shared a series of images of the gunner and even a video in which Suárez talks about his arrival at the Brazilian institution.

“IT’S FROM THE GUILD! One of the greatest in the history of Uruguay, @LuisSuarez9 arrives at the Tricolor to continue his victorious path, now with our jersey! Scorer, multi-champion, cupbearer and fighter! Welcome Luisito! ”, Says the message from Gremio.

“Hello to all the Gremio fans, I wanted to thank you for all the love you have given me and tell you that I am ready to enjoy these wonderful years to try to achieve great things. I send you a big hug and see you in the next few days,” Suárez said in the video greeting the team.

Suárez is expected to join the preseason of the team led by Renato Gaucho on January 3 with the aim of returning to the elite of Brazilian football, winning titles and qualifying for international tournaments for the 2024 season.

Suárez signed with Gremio for a total of two seasons for a figure close to 2.3 million dollars and will be in charge of wearing the number ‘9’ at the sports institution. The agreement was closed after the visit to Uruguay of the club’s vice president, Paulo Caleffi, and the football director, Antonio Brum.

Suárez returned to South America last season after not finding a team that would give him the starting position he expected in Europe; After his arrival at Nacional, he played 13 games in which he scored six goals and three assists. In addition, he rose as champion of the Uruguayan soccer league.
