vinicius-jr.-attacks-the-spanish-la-liga-for-passivity-in-the-face-of-racism:-“racists-continue-to-go-to-the-stadiums-and-do-nothing”

The Brazilian winger Vinicius Junior denounced this Saturday the passivity of the Spanish La Liga after the insults received by some fans present at the José Zorrilla stadium, during the match between Real Valladolid and Real Madrid.

Through his social networks, Vinicius Jr. pointed to La Liga as the only culprit for repeating racism and not taking action on the matter.

“The racists continue to go to the stadiums and see the biggest club in the world up close and La Liga continues to do nothing…”, assured the Brazilian.

Later he added another message in which he pointed out what from now on he will focus on celebrating his team’s victories, because in the end it is “his” fault, he ended up being ironic.

“I will continue with my head held high and celebrating my victories and those of Madrid. In the end it is MY fault,” he added.

The moment came when the Brazilian prepared to leave the field in the 88th minute for Luka Modric. Vinicius left the field behind Courtois’s goal when Benzema scored the final 0-2. The celebration of ’20’ made the stands explode.

Some fans charged the Brazilian, calling him a “son of a bitch, bastard and black” as has been seen in videos broadcast on social networks. Vinicius even kicked objects that fell onto the field back to the stands.

The Brazilian already experienced this situation last season when Real Madrid visited Mallorca and this season before the derby against Atlético de Madrid when 500 Atlético fans who were in the player access area sang “You are a monkey, Vinicius you are a monkey!”

The Madrid Prosecutor’s Office closed the investigation into these racist chants before the derby played last September because, although it described them as “unpleasant” and “disrespectful”, it maintained that they were released in a context of “maximum rivalry”, which only “lasted a few seconds” and that they do not constitute a crime.
