Four men were stabbed to death in separate incidents in a span of a few hours early yesterday morning in Midtown Manhattan, the NYPD reported.

The bloody chain, added to the three police officers attacked with a machete in the vicinity of Times Square on Saturday night during the massive New Year’s party, raised alarms again about insecurity in the tourist mecca of New York.

“Crime is probably our number one, two and three focus,” said Tom Harris, president of the Times Square Alliance (TSA), an organization founded to support area development. “We really need to make sure we get it right.”

The first incident occurred around 12:20 am yesterday at W. 42nd St. and 8th Ave., near the Port Authority Bus Terminal, where a 41-year-old man was stabbed in the face by three assailants.

The New York police were investigating the possibility that it was an attempted robbery. Paramedics took the victim to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition. The attackers escaped and are still on the loose, he reported. Fox News.

The second incident took place just a few minutes later, around 12:30 am at W. 46th St. and 8th Ave. There, two men had some sort of dispute with two other subjects that turned violent. One of the victims was cut in the arm and another in the abdomen. Paramedics also took both victims to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.

The third incident occurred shortly after 3 am at the Metro station inside Port Authority. A man who was leaving when another cut him in the face and then ran away. It is not clear if that attack was part of an attempted robbery.
