A great barrage of criticism has fallen on Brazilian striker Neymar Jr. for not going to the wake of soccer legend Pelé, for allegedly partying in France.

The Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) attacker assured that he would send his father to the funeral of the three-time world champion, because he was fulfilling commitments with the Parisian team.

However, a video was made through social networks in which Neymar is apparently seen at a party held in France, while at the Vilo Belmiro de Santos stadium they said their last goodbye to Pelé.

In fact, some users indicated that the party was due to the birthday of the wife of Marquinhos, Neymar’s teammate at PSG.

For this reason the negative comments have gone against Neymar, whom they accused of being indolent and irresponsible for missing the wake.

So far, the gunner has not defended himself from criticism or clarified the situation.

Neymar sent a farewell message to Pelé through his social networks, where he praised the sporting quality of the legendary Canarinha 10.

“Before Pelé, 10 was just a number. I have read this sentence somewhere, at some point in my life. But this sentence, beautiful, is incomplete. I would say that before Pelé, football was just a sport. Pelé has changed everything. He turned football into art, into entertainment. He gave a voice to the poor, blacks and mainly gave visibility to Brazil. Soccer and Brazil have elevated their status thanks to the King! He is gone but his magic remains,” Ney wrote on Instagram.
