Prince Harry reveals in his memoir, “Spare”, that at the age of 17 he used cocaine, because it made him feel “different”.

“At someone’s house, during a hunting weekend, they offered me a ray, and since then I have eaten a few more,” Enrique wrote. “It wasn’t very funny (…) but it made me feel different. He was a 17-year-old boy willing to try anything that would upset the established order.

He adds that as a student at the exclusive Eton College he used to smoke cannabis in a bathroom in his house while Thames Valley police acted as bodyguards, patrolling the outside of the building.

The son of King Carlos III also acknowledged that he killed several people during six missions in which he participated as a helicopter pilot in Afghanistan. According to his account, he killed 25 people.

“It wasn’t a statistic that made me proud, but it wasn’t ashamed either. When I was immersed in the heat and confusion of combat, I did not think of the 25 as people. They were chess pieces removed from the board, bad people eliminated before they could kill good people.”

Likewise, he now refuses to commit to attending the coronation of his father, King Carlos III, assuring that keeping silent about his problems with the royal family would not help at all.

According to a fragment of an interview with ITV, Harry said he will be open to receiving any response from his father after the publication of “Spare”.

When asked if he would attend the coronation, which will take place in May, and if he is invited, he replied: “Many things can happen between now and then, but, you know, the door is always open; the ball is in your side.

“There’s a lot to discuss and I really hope they’re willing to sit down and talk about it.”

The clip with his statements was released yesterday by ITV on Twitter, hours after The Guardian published excerpts from his book in which he accuses his older brother, William, of physical assault.

“I don’t know how staying silent is going to make things better,” he said of the family’s possible reaction to his criticism.

By mistake, the Casa del Libro in Spain sold the Spanish version of “Spare” yesterday, days before; upon noticing, he withdrew the copies.
