It is expected that this Friday, the Culiacán International Airport will restart its operations after closing this Thursday after the day of violence registered in the capital of the Mexican state of Sinaloa, which was triggered by the capture of Ovidio Guzmán, one of Joaquín’s sons. “El Chapo” Guzman.

“In coordination with the airport authorities, it has been determined that the airport will remain CLOSED to commercial flights, its reopening will be evaluated during the morning of Friday,” the air terminal reported on its social networks.

Guzmán’s arrest and due to the use of the airport for his transfer to the capital during the course of this Thursday, the Culiacán airport closed its operations for a few hours.

The closure of several airports was derived from the violent acts that occurred in some airports in the state; In videos that circulated on social networks, they showed armed groups in their facilities where they started shooting to presumably prevent Ovidio from being transferred to Mexico City.

Until the early hours of this Friday, the air authorities have not confirmed details about the restart of their operations at the Sinaloa terminals.
