man-killed-his-ex-wife's-partner-with-an-ax-and-bullets:-a-crime-of-passion-in-a-new-york-shopping-center

A 42-year-old man died after being attacked with an ax and shot by his partner’s alleged ex-husband, last night in the parking lot of a shopping center in Brooklyn (NYC).

When police arrived on the scene on Ocean Ave. near Voorhies Ave., in the Sheepshead Bay neighborhood, around 9 p.m. Thursday, the victim was lying on the ground.

His 44-year-old girlfriend was crying for him, police said. The woman immediately pointed out to her 47-year-old ex-husband that he was standing near her and later confessed to the attack and was arrested. None of the three involved has been identified.

The victim was struck in the head with a heavy blade and shot in the chest, police said. Paramedics rushed him to Coney Island Hospital, but he could not be saved.

NYPD officers found a bloody hatchet in the trunk of the suspect’s truck, who allegedly shot the victim at least four times after striking him with the knife, police said. No criminal charges were immediately filed, according to Daily News.

In a similar case, on Wednesday night a 60-year-old woman was found dead at her home in Brooklyn (NYC) after her ex-husband barricaded himself and apparently made an attempt on his life using a knife.
