A woman’s uncomfortable reaction to her boyfriend’s marriage proposal went viral on Tiktok recently.
The video recorded during a year-end farewell event on a “rooftop” in Hawaii has become popular on social networks with comments of all kinds from users, most of them criticizing the woman’s behavior.
The clip, which has been circulating on the video network since Monday, shows the girl celebrating in the place when the music suddenly stops and her partner takes the microphone.
“Oh my God, they stopped the entire New Year’s party for this guy to propose (marriage) and the girl was not interested at all,” said the witness who recorded the images that have been viewed more than 4 million times.
“WAIT UNTIL THE END,” added the user. “This has been the weirdest moment I have ever witnessed,” she pointed out.
In the recording, the woman looks embarrassed as if she wished she hadn’t received the public proposal of marriage. The man asks her to go up to her stage and proceeds to ask her to marry him.
“I mean, I’m madly in love with you,” the man declares.
Seeing the passive attitude of his partner, he kneels down and adds: “You are the love of my life, and would you make me the happiest man in the world?” He continues.
“Will you marry me?” he asks.
The prolonged silence of the woman makes the proponent express: “It is a simple yes or no.”
“Oh my God,” the woman exclaims with an uncomfortable look on her face. “Yes?” she adds, more by way of question than answer.
Those present celebrate more than the woman as she adjusts the ring on her finger.
According to another description in the TikTok video, after the proposal, the couple argued.
The comments to the video did not wait. Many questioned the practice of public marriage proposals.
“COME. This is why my fiancé knows what I want my (marriage) proposal to look like. Private, in public or in front of the family. These are important questions to ask,” said one user.
