Mexican soccer lost this week one of the most important figures of the last 15 years after announcing the departure of the historic Argentine soccer player Rubens Sambueza from the MX League, who returns to his native country to reinforce Deportivo Maipú of the First National ( Second division).
The decision of the experienced player is due to the little performance he has shown in the MX League in the last two years due to his age, a fact that little by little caused him to lose interest from the teams.
Given this fact, Sambueza made the decision to send an emotional letter to all the Mexican fans who for so many years supported him in his career and stressed that he never regretted having been part of Liga MX.
“Today after so many years in Mexico, it is my turn to say goodbye and thank you for all the love that I and my family received. They were beautiful years in which I enjoyed a lot, I gave my maximum effort and my dedication in each of the clubs that I had to play, ”said Sambueza on his Instagram social network account.
“I met wonderful people (colleagues, coaching staff, managers, props, cooks, nutritionists, psychologists, doctors, kinesiologists and all those who make each club better every day). My respects to all the fans who always supported me and showed me their love at all times. I hope to see you soon at some point in my life, I will miss you. Your friend Sambu sends you all a big hug,” he added.
Sambueza arrived in Mexico in 2007 and played for the Pumas de la UNAM, Tecos, Las Águilas del Club América, Toluca and finally Atlético San Luis. He lived his best stage with América after winning the MX League and the Concacaf Champions League twice.
The Argentine’s decision to return to his country is also linked to the fact that his children cannot play on Aztec soil because their records are as “Not formed in Mexico”, which affects their participation in the contest.
