Three Manhattan residents have been identified by the New York police in connection with violent demonstrations that have erupted in Times Square on Friday night, as well as across the country following the death of Tire Nichols.

According to NYPD, a Hispanic identified as Argenis Rivera, 33, was charged with criminal conduct after getting into a police car and breaking a windshield with his foot.

For her part, Candy Nicole, 25, was charged with assault, hate crime assault, and two counts of obstruction of government administration for hitting a police officer in the nose and another in the head during protests. .

Meanwhile, 34-year-old Katherine Stone received a ticket for appearing at desk for engaging in criminal mischief and possession of graffiti tools after vandalizing an NYPD car.

The three people were handcuffed at Crossroads of the World after violence escalated amid protests over Nichols’ death at the hands of police in Memphis, Tennessee, the New York Post reported.

As has happened in major cities across the country, New York City was not exempt from the outrage caused by the death of the 29-year-old man, Times Square being one of the concentration points in the Big Apple.

Nichols’ death occurred earlier this month after he was taken into custody by Memphis police. Five officers were involved in the traffic stop that killed Nichols, and they were charged with murder Thursday.

The death of Nichols, who was serving as a Fed Ex driver, has also drawn outcry from officials across the country, including President Joe Biden.

“Like many, I was outraged and deeply hurt after watching the horrifying video of the beating that ended in death,” the president said Friday.
