The Venezuelan U-20 team completed the miracle and qualified for the final hexagonal of the South American U-20 by beating Chile 1-0 thanks to a goal from the penalty spot by Bryan Alcócer.

La Vinotinto achieved the feat this Saturday after having started off on the wrong foot in their first two matches, losing to Ecuador and Uruguay (both also qualified for the final phase of the competition) and sentenced the elimination against Chile that they had only been able to add to three against Bolivia.

The first and only goal of the match was the work of striker Brayan Alcócer, who turned the misfortune of defenseman Yaír Salazar into a goal, who, trying to reject a Venezuelan attack, dove into a popcorn but touched the ball with his hand. There were barely two minutes of the second half.

The match, which had few scoring chances, left few emotions for a Venezuela that, although it had to suffer, was able to achieve the result.

After the match, the players went to celebrate with the fans present at the Pascual Guerrero stadium in Cali, Colombia, before leaving for the hotel to pack their bags and travel to Bogotá.

Now the tricolor team will face off again against Ecuador and Uruguay, as well as against Brazil, Paraguay and Colombia, the latter three being Group A teams that have already advanced to the final round.
