The defense of the Brazilian soccer player, Dani Alves, is doing everything possible to get him out of prison while the trial for the alleged rape he committed against a 23-year-old girl at the Sutton nightclub in Barcelona, Spain, is underway.
The former Pumas player is serving preventive detention in the Brian 2 prison, where he was placed in detention while the trial is taking place, taking into account the risk of flight that is being handled in the case, since there is no extradition treaty between Spain and Brazil, the Alves’ country of origin.
That is why the Brazilian’s new lawyer, Cristóbal Martorell, is preparing a request for the soccer player to wear a bracelet with geolocation, so that he can face trial outside of jail without the risk of escaping.
With this accessory the location of the soccer player could be monitored at all times.
It is worth noting that this device has already been used in other cases in Spain, so Martorell considers that it may be feasible.
However, there is a detail that can interfere with the application of this mechanism, and that is that the delegate of the Government Against Gender Violence, Victoria Rosell, has indicated that the use of this accessory is only limited to people who are already convicted.
