one-month-later:-pele's-widow-publishes-a-farewell-letter

Márcia Aoki, the widow of the legendary Brazilian soccer player, Edson Arantes do Nascimento “Pelé”, published this Sunday a letter in which she bids the last goodbye to the three-time world champion, just one month after his death.

The heartfelt letter was published through Pelé’s networks, and in it they thanked the support of the followers and the tribute from their fans.

Saying goodbye to the one I love and getting used to not having the reason for my life by my side, his love full of affection, his unique humor and his complicity will take time, said Aoki.

The third wife that Pelé had, and whom he married in 2016, after four years of courtship, longed for the moments with the former soccer player and the games with his dog Cacau.

“Despite knowing that this is an inevitable destiny for everyone, the realization that this moment has come to me is the feeling of an empty space, of absence, that presses on my chest,” he added.

“There is also another feeling, of strong gratitude for being able to share my pain with the whole world. We received millions of messages of affection and solidarity, which filled our hearts with comfort and peace,” continued Aoki.

According to the widow, dividing life with Pelé was living a true story of unique love, just as it was dividing the footballer’s love with the fans. “This love will never die and will continue between us. Eternally,” she concluded.

One of the last tributes to Pelé took place on Saturday at the Mané Garrincha stadium in Brasilia before the 56,000 fans who attended the duel between Palmeiras and Flamengo for the title of the Supercopa do Brasil and included the participation of Jennifer and Kely, as well as leaders of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF).
