A DoorDash deliverer, known as Ordinary Delivery Guy on TikTok, is coming under fire for calling a customer who ordered from a McDonald’s just a block away “lazy.”
Other users on TikTok claimed the driver was overly judgmental and gave various justifications for why someone might have requested delivery of a McDonald’s order at 10:48 p.m.
The TikToker posted a video where he wrote in a text overlay: “Why would someone order something from a McDonald’s that is literally right around the corner? They took laziness to the next level.”
The driver then added, “It’s not worth waiting 30 minutes at the drive-thru just to get paid $3.75.”
The delivery man goes on to say in the text, “Take your car, your bike, or your legs to pick up your own food.”
In the video an approach is made to the order on the map. The DoorDash driver then begins interacting with his phone screen where he presses a few menu options to ultimately decline the order.
“Rejected!” reads the last text overlay in the video before the screen cuts to black.
Some viewers of the Ordinary Delivery Guy video had opinions against his choice to decline the order. Several encouraged him not to be critical of a person’s decision to order food from a McDonald’s so close to his delivery location, because he might have had children and didn’t have time to go to the restaurant.
Others surmised that the person might have been too busy for other reasons to leave their place to go find food and only had a short period of time to have it delivered. Some more indicated that the person may have been sick and could not leave his location.
