Actress Lisa Loring, known for her role as Merlina Addams on ‘The Addams Family,’ has died at the age of 64, her daughter Vanessa Foumberg told Variety.
“Lisa Loring left in peace as her two daughters held her hand,” Foumberg said.
Immediately friends and relatives of the actress shared their condolences through social networks.
“It is with great sadness that I report the passing of our friend, Lisa Loring. Four days ago she suffered a stroke caused by smoking and high blood pressure, “wrote Laurie Jacobson, one of her best friends.
“She had been on life support for three days. Her family made the difficult decision to remove it. She is a part of pop culture and she will always be in our hearts as ‘Merlina Addams,’” she added.
After playing the character of Merlina at the age of 6, Lisa Loring acted in films like ‘The Pruitts of Southampton’ and in series like ‘The Girl from Cipol’.
Last month Jimmy Fallon paid tribute to Lisa Loring on his show, as the success of the Addams franchise was resurrected by a new series launched by Netflix.
