Teenager Dominick Allen died after being left with a gunshot wound at a Manhattan (NYC) hospital.

Allen, 17, was dropped off at Harlem Hospital on Lenox Ave. near W. 136th St. around 5:15 p.m. Sunday, police said. Once there, medical personnel were unable to save him, he reported. Daily News.

Police later confirmed that Allen had been shot in the chest at East River Houses, a public housing complex (NYCHA) on E. 105th St. near First Ave., East Harlem. It is not clear if the victim lived there.

In a similar case, a 26-year-old man was found dead with a gunshot wound in the passenger seat of a parked car yesterday afternoon in the Bronx (NYC). Also in that county on Tuesday, a 25-year-old man was fatally shot in the head during an apparent confrontation inside an apartment he was visiting in a NYCHA building.

Young people are increasingly protagonists in gun violence in New York as victims and perpetrators, particularly shootings and attacks with bladed weapons.
