Dani Alves’ lawyers testified this Tuesday, during a hearing in Barcelona on charges of sexual abuse of the Brazilian, that the statement of the alleged victim does not match the videos from the cameras in the premises.
According to the young woman’s version, she was in a different environment from the one she had narrated in the statement where she claimed to have been in an environment of “terror, fear, or domination.”
Apparently this would represent a “narrative distortion” and for this reason Alves’ defense requested provisional release for the footballer at the hearing.
Within Alves’ offer to justice would be the delivery of his Brazilian and Spanish passports, as well as canceling the bail they determine, attending presentation hearings, even if they are daily, and wearing an electronic bracelet or anklet.
The appeal, written by the lawyer Cristóbal Martell, argues that there is no risk of escape on which the judge relied to send him to prison without bail on January 20, given that Alves voluntarily went to testify before the Mossos and no longer has of the “economic muscle of periodic income” that the instructor attributed to him.
In addition, Martell recalled that as a result of the complaint, advertising contracts were canceled and even his separation from Pumas de la UNAM.
In the next few days, Alves’ defense is expected to receive a response to the request, but if it is denied, the winger could spend up to a year in jail awaiting trial.
