Last Sunday, Atlético Mineiro visited Tombense for the second date of the Mineiro Championship in Brazil but beyond the victory of the visitors, the particularity came with the footballer Hulk, who in just 90 minutes of play lost almost 6 kilos.
This was announced by the same club with a video posted on their social networks, where they show the weight of the player before entering the field, which marks 97.6kg and after the match the Brazilian returns to the scales but this time weighing 91.9kg.
The match took place at the Soares de Azevedo Stadium in the municipality of Tombos, in the state of Minas Gerais in southern Brazil, and when it was played at 11:00 a.m. local time, the temperature was close to 36 degrees, so the situation extreme led him to this loss.
Team physio Roberto Chiari explained how this could be possible, “He sweats a lot, that doesn’t mean it’s bad, in fact, the athlete who sweats a lot uses the most efficient mechanism to dissipate his body heat, which is through the sweat. This sweat, when it evaporates, causes the athlete to lose body heat more efficiently. So, losing a lot of kilos by dehydrating through sweat is not a problem”, he highlighted.
