A Hawaiian family is in shock after a 5-foot rock crashed into their home, and video captured the moment.

Caroline Sasaki was walking into her living room in Honolulu on Sunday night when the massive boulder crashed into her home.

The massive boulder is estimated to have traveled from a nearby hillside and through a cinder block wall outside the home, scratching the family’s car, before crashing into the living room and into a bedroom, Hawaii News Now reported. .

As can be seen in the following images, the rock passed very close to her as she walked to the sofa to watch TV. She told the outlet that the family had just moved into the house earlier this month.

“I heard the loud bang and apparently the rock went right in front of me, which I didn’t know,” he told Hawaii News Now. “I did not see it. All I heard was the boom and then someone asked me if I was okay.”

At the time, there were three others in the house, but just like Sasaki, none were injured.

An investigation is underway to determine how the rock crashed into the house and where it came from. The rock remained inside the house until Monday, according to the outlet.

“Basically, I’m in shock,” Sasaki told ABC7. “I refuse to watch the videos so, I’m not sure how close, but everyone tells me I’m lucky.”

The area has undergone many changes in recent years, Hawaii News Now reported, and now a concrete wall supports the steep hillside near Sasaki’s home.

“There was a concern even before this happened,” Sasaki said of the nearby hillside where many rocks rest.
