A South Carolina woman says she had a gut feeling about buying a lottery ticket, and it resulted in a win of hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The woman said she was driving to work when she said “something” told her to go to a grocery store in the Aynor area, located on the 501 freeway, KPLC News reported.
According to the South Carolina Education Lottery, the woman ended up buying a $500,000 instant scratch-off ticket in the Multiplier Money game that costs $10.
She said she initially thought she had only won $500, but discovered more zeroes as she continued to scratch.
The woman, who was not identified by lottery officials, said her hands began to shake when she learned she had won the $500,000 jackpot.
“It felt like a dream and it was the most incredible feeling in the world,” said the lucky player.
State lottery officials said the woman plans to buy a new house with her fortune.
The South Carolina Lottery shared that the odds of winning the $500,000 Scratch-Off jackpot are 1 in 660,000.
Aynor’s grocery store received a $5,000 commission just for selling the winning ticket.
