For the second Tuesday in a row, someone won the Mega Millions jackpot in Massachusetts and walked away with $31 million.

Authorities in Massachusetts reported Wednesday that the jackpot-winning ticket for the January 31 draw was sold at a Gibbs store located at 107 Winn St. in Woburn.

The winning numbers for this Tuesday’s draw were: 7-9-18-29-39. The MegaBall was 13.

The cash option is $16.5 million.

The player or player opted for the “Quick Pick” method for the numerical series.

Just a week ago, another ticket sold in the state contained the six numbers corresponding to the “jackpot” drawn on January 24, also for $31 million.

In that case, the ticket was purchased at a Stop & Shop, located at 40 George Hannum Street in Belchertown.

These jackpot prizes are the largest won in Massachusetts since one person won $758.7 million in the August 23, 2017 Powerball drawing.

According to the Fall River Reporter, last night’s jackpot is the fifth Mega Millions jackpot won by a player in the state since 2002 when the lottery expanded and changed its name from Big Game to Mega Millions.

Prior to these two consecutive Mega Millions jackpots, the last time anyone won the state’s top prize on that game of chance was on October 16, 2012 for $61 million. However, in that instance, the winner in Massachusetts shared the prize with another lucky winner in California.
