The Mexican actor Gael García Bernal will participate together with the American actress Nicole Kidman in the movie ‘Holland, Michigan’, reported The Hollywood Reporter.

The American filmmaker Mimi Cave (‘Fresh, I’m Happy, I Promise’) will be in charge of directing the film, which, according to the media, will be a Hitchcock-style thriller involving secrets that lurk beneath a Midwestern city.

Nicole Kidman will produce the project along with Per Saari through her Blossom Films label, which has a longstanding relationship with Amazon, recently teaming up for ‘Things I Know to Be True,’ an adaptation of Andrew Bovell’s award-winning play, and the upcoming drama series ‘Expats’.

The actress starred in Amazon’s ‘Being the Ricardos’ as Lucille Ball, a role that earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Actress, a Golden Globe for Best Actress – Drama and a SAG nomination.

Gael García Bernal will re-team with Amazon after his role in ‘Cassandro’, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival to positive reviews.

Another project on the horizon for the Mexican actor is the Hulu series ‘La Máquina’, in which he will share credits with Eiza González and Diego Luna.

At the moment, no more information has been revealed about the film ‘Holland, Michigan’, whose script is by Andrew Sodroski (‘Manhunt: Unabomber, American Blood’).
