The tennis legend Serena Williams closed the door to tennis again by stating that this is not the time to return to the discipline, from which she departed last September when she last played the US Open.

In a recent interview with Gayle King for “CBS Mornings,” Williams explained that while it’s hard to deny that she’d like to return, it’s not the ideal scenario right now.

“It’s hard to say. I would say not. Not for now. I have literally given my whole life to tennis, and it is time for me to dedicate my life to something else,” explained the winner of 23 Grand Slam tournaments.

And it is that the pressure to see the 41-year-old tennis player once again does not come only from die-hard tennis fans, but also from her own father Richard Williams, who has tried to get her to return to high-level competition.

“(My father) told me, ‘Serena, you should play two more Grand Slams’ and I’m like, ‘Dad, stop it,'” Serena added.

In the interview, he also commented that he is living a great present in his marriage with the co-creator of Reddit, Alexis Ohanian and the fruit of said union, Olympia, who could even have a sister soon.

“She (her daughter) prays for a brother. I’m working on it,” Williams said with a laugh.

While she is away from the grass and clay, Williams continues to work on various projects, including a farm in Florida where she grows fruits, vegetables and animals, as well as her project called Serena Ventures, a capital firm that finances various projects.
