On social networks, the love story between a 24-year-old woman, originally from Starkville, Mississippi, named Miracle Pogue and Charles Pogue, who exists a difference of 61 years between them, has gone viral.
Their love story began in 2019 when Miracle worked at a laundromat where Charles constantly went. They started out as friends and little by little their relationship transformed until they decided to start a courtship.
After a couple of months of dating, the 85-year-old retired real estate agent proposed to Miracle in February 2020, walking down the aisle. Currently, both are thinking of having their first child.
‘We had a good vibe, he didn’t make me feel weird. It was a good conversation, he made me feel comfortable. I knew he was older, but I didn’t know exactly how old he was.
“I don’t care if he’s 100 or 55, I like him for who he is. I thought he was maybe 60 or 70 because he looks so good. He is always awake and active, ”said the woman, who also revealed that she had to overcome many problems with her family, in particular with her father, who did not accept his partner, since Charles is 10 years older than his own grandfather.
The couple got married in July of last year and Miracle describes the day as “the best day” of her life.
“People who comment online don’t make a difference, we just let them do their thing. We are very happy together. We really want to start a family together, ”she added, excited by the idea that they could have a baby.
The couple has gone to a clinic to undergo in vitro fertilization treatment; Miracle wants to have 2 children and Charles has never been a father, so he shares the same illusion, even though he is aware that he may not be able to enjoy them for a long time.
“It’s a blessing to have someone to talk to and trust. I know our relationship looks weird and people think ‘what’s going on here?’ but I know that he caught me and I caught him, ”said the young woman.
