After the weigh-in between Amanda Serrano and Erika Cruz prior to the fight for the featherweight unification title, the Puerto Rican launched a couple of sparks to warm up the match that will take place at Madison Square Garden.
The experienced 34-year-old boxer said she expects a “bloodbath” against Cruz and that she will hurt her no matter if she gets hurt in the process as well.
Nothing takes Serrano away from her goal, which is to be the undisputed world champion, “my goal has always been to be the first undisputed Puerto Rican champion, only recently. Being the first undisputed champion of Puerto Rico is my goal because my country has had champions in all divisions,” she commented prior to the match.
She doesn’t mind not being a favorite
Both on social networks and in bookmakers, Amanda is positioned as the favorite for the battle; However, “Dinamita” Cruz is not intimidated by that and she affirmed that she does not care about the fact that she is not a favorite in the contest.
“We don’t really focus on what the media or fans are saying about being an underdog, we just focused on this fight since we knew we were going to fight it. We are not distracted by anything. I am happy and grateful to God, to my father who is with me at all times and focused on Saturday because Mexico will make history,” Cruz closed.
