Ángel Almeida, a young man who has defined himself as a “worshipper of Satan and a neo-Nazi” and “addicted to extreme child pornography” was accused of inciting two minors to perform sexual acts between 2020 and 2021.
Almeida (22), who was initially arrested for possession of weapons in 2021, was now charged with child pornography and sexual exploitation in Brooklyn Federal Court on Tuesday.
When he was first arrested, prosecutors took note of his Instagram accounts, which included photos of him holding weapons and standing in front of a Satanist and neo-Nazi flag. He also had a stash of books on the occult and devil worship at his Astoria, Queens, home, along with a gun and ammunition, when the FBI raided, according to court documents.
Almeida was charged this week with enticing a minor, “Jane Doe,” into “sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing one or more visual depictions of such conduct.” And he forced a second under the age of 17 to have sex with someone who was at least 21, prosecutors alleged.
The FBI began investigating him after receiving tips about his online activity. An informant told the feds that Almeida had posted photos of minors in fetish clothing and threatened to kill, sacrifice and rape people, he summed up. Daily News.
That led to an investigation, and the feds soon found a Facebook page showing Almeida posing with guns and ammunition, and standing in front of a black flag associated with the “Order of Nine Angles,” which prosecutors describe as a ” global belief-based Satanist group that embraces elements of neo-Nazism and white supremacy.”
“The defendant’s alleged exploitation of minors has been extremely damaging mentally, emotionally, and physically to his victims,” US Attorney Breon Peace stated. “His possession of a firearm despite a prior felony conviction, combined with his crimes against minors, reflects Almeida’s dangerousness and lack of respect for the law.”
Peace also urged parents to alert their children to the dangers of talking to strangers online. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) warned since 2020 of an increase in cases of child pornography due to the longer time spent by adults and children online.
Federal authorities are asking anyone with information about possible sexual exploitation by Almeida to contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI or at tips.fbi.gov.
All charges are mere accusations and those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
