Pablo Lyle received sentence today. The Mexican actor must remain in prison for five more years and will also have eight years of probation for the involuntary homicide of Juan Ricardo Hernández, 63, a man of Cuban origin who lost his life in March 2019.
Pablo Lyle was found guilty in October 2022, for manslaughter. We know that the hearing that took place this day lasted three hours, where Judge Marisa Tinkler Méndez included anger management and community service classes in her sentence.
It is important to remember that the prosecutor’s office handling the case had requested a sentence of up to 15 years in prison. At this hearing, it is known that some of his relatives spoke for the actor, including his wife Ana Araujo, who assured that he, upon learning that Hernández had died due to the altercation, had not only cried and lost sleep, but that in the moment he even vomited from the shock.
The actor also took the floor to apologize to the family of Juan Ricardo Hernández, assuring that at the time of the events he only thought of protecting his family. In his own words: “I just thought I was protecting my family,” Lyle said.
Mercedes Arce, the deceased’s girlfriend, spoke and assured that life for her has not been easy. She was going to marry the Cuban in the week that he lost his life. And as if that were not enough, she has now also received psychiatric and psychological help due to the incident, since going out on the street makes her afraid.
He also spoke about Lyle Arce and said: “I know it was not his intention to kill him, but actions have consequences. I hope that God gives us the strength to endure this pain,” Telemundo 51 reported.
