The Argentine Enzo Fernández already wears the colors of Chelsea and made his debut as a starter in the goalless draw against Fulham at Stamford Bridge on matchday 21 of the Premier League, the midfielder had a good performance, being even the best valued player on his team according to several statistical portals.
However, the British newspaper Daily Mail on its cover on Saturday launched a strong criticism of the London team with Fernández as the focus. “Not even 105 million pounds can buy a goal for Chelsea,” reads the newspaper’s front page.
The 22-year-old midfielder has just spent a couple of days at Chelsea, who paid the aforementioned amount to Benfica for his transfer; which placed Enzo among the most expensive signings in history. On the other hand, the “Blue” club spent 329 million euros only in this winter market.
The London team is not having a good time in the Premier League where they are in ninth place, far from the European competition positions. Chelsea must wake up if they want to save the season, that’s why the great investment made this January, but if those led by Graham Potter do not rise, criticism will continue to fall on the team.
