This Friday, the Pentagon spokesman, General Pat Ryder announced the granting of a new military aid package to Ukraine for $2.175 million dollars, with anti-aircraft defenses and Javelin anti-tank missiles, to resist the Russian invasion.
Ryder told a news conference that the new aid also includes ammunition and long-range rockets for the High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) provided to Ukraine by Washington.
Since the start of the war unleashed by the Russian government against Ukraine on February 24, 2022, the US has allocated at least $29.3 billion in military aid to kyiv.
In almost a year, the US has been the country that has provided the most aid to Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian invasion.
In recent weeks, the US government has announced the shipment of 31 Abrams tanks to kyiv, after Western allies such as Germany, the United Kingdom and Spain announced that they were going to send main battle tanks to Ukraine.
Likewise, the US has also announced the supply to the European country of Patriot anti-missile batteries.
With respect to the Abrams tanks, the US will train the Ukrainian military in their handling in a third country, while the Patriot batteries are being trained on their own territory at a military base in Oklahoma.
